Australian Fisheries Statistics
The total volume of fisheries production in Australia has increased by 17,500 tonne (eight per cent), since 1999-2000, while the real gross value of production has fallen by $0.8 billion (26 per cent). The increase in production volume is largely the result of growth in the production of Australian sardines, according to ABARE’s Australian Fisheries Statistics, released this week.
