Ocea Workboats for Fish Farming and Aquaculture
NORWAY - Ocea AS has bought the rights and drawings for the Risnes Marine Partner (RMP) workboats.
All RMP employees are now employed by Ocea and the boats will largely be produced and fitted at Ocea’s partner-yard in Estonia.
The workboats from RMP are constructed and built to last, with an emphasis on strength and safety. By introducing the boats under the Ocea brand, the company is fulfilling the demand from the industry for greater capacity workboats with stability and greater speed.
The workboats are available in various sizes and constellations up to 15 metres long.
They are produced under the regulations of Nordisk Båtstandard (Nordic Boat Standard) for professional vessels.
The boats are built in steel with aluminium pilot house. This provides for a strong and robust workboat – built to last. The hulls – having a high cruising potential, up to 20 knots - are developed in cooperation with Vik Sandvik AS.
In 2007 the Ocea Group had a total turnover in excess of NOK 270 million and substantial growth is expected in 2008.
Ocea announced has also acquired Prona in Chile.
"We are pursuing a clear-cut growth strategy. Our aim is to become a global leader in steel and plastic cages, feed barges, feed systems and software for production management and harvest planning. We are on schedule," said Hans Runshaug.
